Team Roles & Permissions

Invite teammates with exactly the access they need — from door-only Box Office to full Admin — applied automatically across every event on your account.

Your account can carry a whole team — a door crew, a marketer, a bookkeeper, a co-manager. Instead of sharing one login, you invite each person by email and give them a role. A role is a preset bundle of permissions that applies across every event on your account at once — add someone as Box Office today and they can work the door for all your events, including ones you create later. You, the account owner, always keep full control and can change or remove anyone at any time.

The roles at a glance

Owner — you

•Full access to everything: events, finances, marketing, billing, and the team itself. Always present; can’t be removed.

Admin

•Everything across every event, plus account-wide controls (team, billing, marketing, creating events). Your most trusted right hand.

Manager

•Runs all the account’s events end to end — create, edit, check-in, box office, reports, attendee data, finances, and marketing. Stops short of billing and managing the team.

Finance

•The books: reports, revenue, payouts, attendee data, and billing. Doesn’t edit events or work the door.

Box Office

•The door crew: check-in (scan tickets) and box-office door sales. Sees the event, not its finances or attendee contacts.

Marketing

•Campaigns, Amplify ads, and performance reports. No door access, no finances.

Viewer

•Read-only. Sees event details and dashboards; changes nothing.

Custom

•Pick exactly which permissions this person gets — for anyone who doesn’t fit a preset.

What each permission unlocks

Every role is built from these building blocks, and a Custom role lets you pick them one by one.

Per event

•**View events** — see details and dashboards
•**Edit events** — change details and settings
•**Check-in** — scan tickets at the door
•**Box office** — sell tickets at the door
•**Reports** — attendance and sales reports
•**Attendee data** — attendee contact information *(sensitive)*
•**Finances** — payouts and revenue *(sensitive)*

Account-wide *(rolling out)* • Create events, Marketing, Manage team *(sensitive)*, Billing *(sensitive)*

Scope — all events, or just some

By default a teammate’s role applies to all events on your account, present and future. You can instead scope them to specific events — handy for a door volunteer hired for one festival, or a promoter working a single show. Their permissions then resolve only on the events you picked; everything else stays invisible to them.

Let AI suggest the access

Not sure which role fits? Describe the person in plain language — “our bookkeeper,” “runs the merch table and the door,” “handles our Instagram ads” — and BrightStar suggests the closest role (or a custom set) for you to confirm. You always review before anyone is added.

Sensitive access — finances, attendee contacts, billing, and managing the team — is only granted to the roles that genuinely need it, and is clearly flagged when you build a Custom role. Give the least access that lets someone do their job.
