This sacred satsang gathering invites seekers to sit in the presence of Swami Premodaya for an evening of spiritual communion and guided contemplation
Swami Premodaya
Spiritual Gathering
Description
Sitting in the presence of a genuine teacher changes something. Not because of what is said, but because of what is transmitted — a quality of silence, of clarity, that does its own quiet work. This Sunday in Los Angeles, Swami Premodaya offers exactly that: an open satsang at JewelTree Center for Spiritual Growth & Guidance, a gathering space for sincere seekers of all backgrounds and stages of the path.
Satsang — from the Sanskrit meaning "association with truth" — is one of the oldest and most direct forms of spiritual practice. There is no performance here, no curriculum to follow. Seekers come as they are, with whatever questions or silences they carry, and sit together in a field of shared inquiry. Under Swami Premodaya's guidance, that field becomes something more than the sum of its parts: a space where self-knowledge and inner stillness become genuinely available, often in ways that formal study or solitary practice cannot reach.
Whether you are newly drawn to this kind of exploration or have been walking a conscious path for years, this gathering offers something rare — direct access to a teacher of real depth, in an intimate Los Angeles setting, with a community of fellow seekers around you.
What to Expect
The satsang runs for ninety minutes and is conducted in English, open to all ages. Doors open at 1:30 PM, leaving time to settle in before the gathering begins. Swami Premodaya leads through discourse, guided contemplation, and the quality of presence that satsang is known for — spacious, unhurried, and genuinely supportive of inner exploration.
Attendees are invited to bring their real questions and their real selves. The atmosphere is welcoming rather than formal; strangers often find a sense of community quickly in this kind of setting. What participants tend to leave with is harder to name than a technique or a teaching — more a felt sense of clarity, of having touched something true.
Attendance is by donation, with a suggested contribution of $25. Registration is free.
About Swami Premodaya
Swami Premodaya is a spiritual teacher and Western Guru working in the Eastern tradition, known to seekers internationally for his clarity, wit, and practical effectiveness. His first significant spiritual awakening came at age twelve, when he became a dweej — a Hindu term meaning "twice born." Two decades later, a series of profound and uninvited mystical experiences unfolded over the course of a year, including a full experience of death, after which he found himself able to perceive deeply into others across time. These experiences drew him to the Indian guru Osho, who gave him the name Premodaya — meaning "Love Rising" — and to whom he has been a direct disciple (sannyasin) since 1983. He later encountered Gangaji, the California-based spiritual teacher, as a second significant Master. In parallel, Premodaya holds a Master's degree in Psychology and spent thirty years working in mental health, including a role as Director of Outpatient Psychology and Psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills. His teaching does not draw on any single tradition or lineage; instead, it guides individuals toward direct experience of Truth in whatever way best serves their own path.
